Fantastic to have such an informative New Zealand website.
I thoroughly recommend your site to any of my customers, or anyone that asks for advice about sling wearing.
It is refreshing to see such a broad selection of information and advice. A fantastic tool to guide you to finding the perfect sling without brand coersion. Again FANTASTIC WEBSITE!

Can you advise the best carrier for a newborn - i want to have some free hands this time while baby sleeps and isn't fussing - also something where you can breastfeed with it on. I don't think I'll use it beyond 6 months as my back isnt' the best and my babies are heavy!

Consumer Magazines misinformation re other slings
posted by Pene Marshall on 8/04/2010 9:23:05 p.m. (NZ time)
Hi, thank you so much for your fantastic website and for your very to the point interview on the news re bag sling recall.

I just received the latest NZ Consumer Magazine in the mail which has a completely unbalanced article warning against the dangers of all slings (no differentiation between the dangerous bag slings and other kinds eg ring slings) and then adding insult to injury by recommending front pack carriers/crotch danglers!

Since you have such fantastic information on your website re difference between bag slings and other slings (ie they are NOT the same) and how to use other slings safely and why frontpacks are not good and why proper slings and wraps are so supportive and beneficial, I wondered if you would be able to forward your valuable info to NZ Consumer Magazine so they could write a balanced addendum next issue, otherwise I worry a whole lot of the magazines readership will either put their babies in prams or in crotch danglers when they may have otherwise chosen a sling, until Consumer Magazine grouped all slings together as dangerous.

This is so wrong, and babies may miss out on being comfortably worn because of this completely unbalanced unresearched article.

Many many thanks for your time,

Pene Marshall
Which woven wrap?
posted by Abby Hosking on 11/04/2010 9:27:04 p.m. (NZ time)
Hi there,
I want to buy a woven wrap and I'm wondering which is the most comfortable/best brand? As far as I can see neobulle, storch, girasol and didymos are all available in NZ. I want it mainly for back carries, I have a heavy baby.
Thank you

Hi there,
I want to buy a woven wrap and was wondering if you can tell me which is the most comfortable brand for back carries. It seems you can get neobulle, storch, didymos and girasol fairly easily in NZ.
Thank you
