 Busy busy busy! Slingbabies in action
Slingbabies is two real-life groups as well as an informative website.
It is free to attend, but a gold coin donation is appreciated.
The West Auckland branch meets each 1st Friday of the month, at the Stuges West Community House, 58 Summerland Dr, Henderson, West Auckland. The meeting runs from 10am -12noon, babies/toddlers welcome.
The SouthEast Auckland branch meets each 3rd Sunday of the month, 1.30-3.30 at the Anchorage Park Community House (rear room) 16 Swan Crescent, Pakuranga.
(Both venues are baby/toddler friendly with baby toys and playgrounds.)
New people/members are always welcome, so come along and see what the excitement is about!
When you join Slingbabies, you get the use of the sling library, monthly meetings, support and sling help, and get to know other babywearing parents.
Annual membership of the library is $25. See below for more details. We always welcome new members, it's so nice to be part of a growing group of like-minded people, and continue spreading the babywearing love!
Slingbabies 'sling library'
The main reason for our sling library is for people to trial carriers they are curious about or are considering buying.
It is not a long-term hire service, and carriers are to be loaned once only.
Use of the sling library is primarily for Slingbabies real-life members only. (Any exceptions are entirely at our discretion)
Lending conditions are as follows:
You must be a paid Member of Slingbabies to loan out a carrier.
Membership is $25 per year with the first fortnight's loan free. Subsequent loans are $10 per fortnight or $15 for the month.
You may take out one carrier per loan.
(Non-members may not borrow carriers but are welcome to try on at meetings.)
A $5 late fee applies for carriers not returned on the due date.
Loaning conditions:
- You take full responsibility for the safety of your child whilst using a Slingbabies loaner carrier.
- Carrier loan is $5 per two weeks for members, payable in advance and additional to membership.
- There is a $5 late fee if not returned by the due date. You can opt to post a carrier back at your cost, via Track & Trace.
- You are liable to pay 50% replacement cost up to a limit of $100 should a carrier be damaged in your care and/ or need replacing.
- You agree to take excellent care of any carriers loaned, and not to wash them.
